BLESSED ARE THEY THAT DO
Let us not love in word, neither in tongue;
but in deed and in truth.
Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein,
being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work,
this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Now the goal of our commandment is
love out of a true heart,
and from a good conscience,
and of faith unfeigned.
True and undefiled religion is this:
to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction,
and to keep oneself uncorrupted by the world.
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
and you say to them,
"Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,"
but you do not give them those things which are needful to the body,
what does it profit?
